Past and present

A gallery of images of the geological past compared to the present day, taken from elsewhere on my sites.
I'll try to do others, but if you want to have a go yourself, contribute some and we'll see what they look like.

Maungaongaonga is a hill just west of Waiotap, on the road to Waikite Springs. At the left of the photo you can see a bit sticking out of the hill, which is probably a pyroclastic debris flow. I have shown what it may have looked like as it hurtled down the hill.
